Baizhen Wang Period 2

Write about your thoughts regarding the reading.
One of the more interesting articles I had read in the past week was the U.S government's preparedness toward a zombie apocalypse.
"... young officers participating in the Joint Operational Planning and
Execution System realized the potential upsides to planning for a hypothetical zombie attack.". I thought, "Man, are we seriously more prepared for a zombie invasion than for a worldwide pandemic" As I looked around the world to see other countries preparedness for the pandemic, I couldn't help but see how much better other places are doing, with maybe a few exceptions. If a zombie invasion was happening instead of this virus, maybe our government would be better prepared for it and we wouldn't be in this situation. Oh well, who really knows...

What is it like working from home?
Working from home isn't bad. There are times where I am really productive and get all my work done, but I think I have realized that after all that work is finished, I have nothing left to do. I would much rather have in-person school because I get to see my friends and there's a set schedule for me to follow.

What are the updates around the world/community regarding the virus?
New York has seen a drop in cases and the governor has said we are doing well, but it's still bad as people are still dying. I'm not quite comfortable going outside and interacting with others, even though I would love to because I don't want to risk getting my parents and grandparents sick. As for around the world, some good news is Taiwan where there has been a record low of cases, maybe even single digits. I hope the United States could take away some of their methodologies for similar results.
