Angelica Baburova Pd 5 Day B 4/4/2021

  • At this current point in time, what specific goal(s) do you have for yourself? Why?

My current goal is to truly understand my desires and learn how to differentiate them from what others want for me. I need to learn how to become decisive and trust my gut. With upcoming college decisions, it is up to me not only to decide where I go but also my major. I applied to multiple majors depending on the school, and now it is time e for me to plan out my future. In addition, some of the schools I applied to are highly specialized, if I were to attend I have to be certain this is what I want.

I am planning on majoring in engineering, which used to be what I thought my final goal was. But over time I realized that an aerospace or aeronautical degree would likely push me towards working in the military field which is not what I want. I also applied for biomedical engineering just in case this would happen so that I would continue to study what I want but leave a path open for medical fields. Ultimately, I am not sure where these majors would lead me but nonetheless, a decision has to be made.

  • How do you demonstrate resilience towards achieving this goal? (or these goals?)

I am currently not only looking at what do I want to study but the jobs that are available to me upon completion of that degree. In addition, I am weighing the likelihood of my transferring majors within a school and speaking to students tat are currently attending it. Speaking to others, while giving me information, is hindering my personal judgment as now with more information (each piece of it likely holding a bias) my opinion and knowledge is both overflowing and scattered.

  • How does the world around you affect your perception of this goal? (or these goals?)

It is expected that every person is not only able to visualize their future in the upcoming years but with the current climate, it is extremely difficult to get real-world experience or test out anything prior to making a decision. Not only are students going into fields blind, but they are doing so with college decisions as well. Many schools are not offering tours and the environment of a school is a crucial part of the decision-making process.
