Today (10/8/19) we started by continuing from yesterday's lesson about Demeter and Persephone, where we rap up our conversation by talking about how the pomegranate seeds represent her virginity.
We then move right on to talking about the story of Dionysus, the God of Wine.
There's a quote on the board that reads "In vino veritas", or "In wine, there is truth" as translated to english.
Now we're going to talk about the traits of Dionysus:::Joy/destruction of drinking, rebirth, death, benefactor, destroyer, freedom, brutality
Doyle talked about dolphins and then ghosted me while I was working on this.
Main points: there is balance between indulgence and restriction. Don't go to extremes.
We're doing group work now. We're talking about 4 questions that were put up on the board. my group has "Any comparisons between Dionysus and Christ?"
- My group thinks there is a comparison. USE THE LEARN-TO-READ PACKETS BOIS.
Ben in Group 4: "What does christ do? Turn water into wine! What is Dionysus the god of? WINE. WOAAHHHH."
This is a battle now there's been a bonus 10 like 4 times.
Percy Jackson is brought up and Fusaro twitched
"Be patient and endure" - Fusaro referring to the young greek girls/persephone
Now we're talking about the creation project. Period just ended!
