What is it like working from home?

Working from home has been drastically different than working in school, quite obviously,
because we are in the comfort of our homes and are able to work on assignments at our
own pace. In classes such as Mythology, I have been able to truly go in depth with each
lesson and assignment and really consider the purpose of our reading and its importance.
Although there are distractions at times, working from home has been rather easy to
adjust to as I have more time to find ways to learn that work for me.

What are the updates around the world/community regarding the virus?

As of Thursday April 9th, New York State now unfortunately has the highest reported count
of coronavirus cases in the world. As of today, April 16th, there has been a significant drop
in deaths in the state, but people are still unfortunately dying. I have friends and family
working to fight the virus, and I wish them nothing but the best and have an immense
sense of respect for their work and effort. Until a vaccine is properly tested and is proven
to be effective, I believe that the earliest date by which we will be allowed out will most
likely be around the beginning of the summer.

Your own personal feelings and thoughts about what is happening right now.

It’s disappointing and upsetting to miss out on a huge part of senior year due to the quarantine,
but I understand that at this point it is inevitable. I am viewing the quarantine with as much
optimism as possible as I have now been able to revisit old hobbies that I simply didn’t have
time for during our time of physically going to school. Hobbies like cooking, exercising, and
reading have been keeping me entertained, but it is still boring at times to sit at home and
try to find anything to do for entertainment.
