During such a tumultuous time, I believe staying educated is the most important way to
be safe. Staying up to date and knowing how to avoid the virus can prevent spreading
further cases. The US is currently leading with the most confirmed cases (1,346,299),
recovered patients (276,636), and deaths (74,679). In New York specifically, there have been
130,689 total cases and a staggering 4,758 deaths. Getting even closer to home, New York
City itself has more than half of the cases, totaling in 68,776 cases with 2,738 deaths. Some top
ways to prevent the spreading of Covid-19 would be to disinfect items and surfaces around
work and home. Along with that, if you sneeze or cough, be sure to cover your mouth and
thoroughly wash your hands for at least 20 seconds.
On a lighter note, let’s talk about vampires. In lesson 12 we have come to the question
of “Has Louis broken the paradigms of his relationship with Claudia?” I believe that he
has. By thinking about choosing between Armand and Claudia, this brings many things
into questions for her. Her entire world has just changed as Louis may now leave her for
Armand. Armand needs Louis’ human side, especially his curiosity, and uses that to stay
relevant. This forces Louis to have to choose between Claudia and Armand, knowing
each may be ruined without Louis.
Working from home has been dramatically different in both a positive and
negative light. Working from home has made it much harder to keep track of days and time,
not really paying much attention since there is nowhere to be anymore. I feel as if I have
so much time yet nothing to do with it which does seem counterproductive. Not being
able to see faces that we’ve seen almost everyday for the past 6 months has been a drastic
change that does make me a bit sad as this is our senior year and it won’t be spent together.
However, there are some positives to this as we can better use our time to do things
we only talked about doing, “if only we had the spare time to.” Along with that pollution
has been slightly decreasing as well, giving nature its time to renew. All in all,
throughout times like these, doing what needs to get done and then spending the rest of your
time to do things to help pass time is the best thing I believe we can do right now so
I hope everyone stays inside and stays safe.
